We decided to visit Bristol zoo since we were only an hours drive away. It was a trip down memory lane, our last visit was nearly 40 years ago.
We both have reservations about keeping wild animals in cages which does not allow them to behave in a natural way. It pleased us to see that there are very few animals kept like this and most of the large mammals are not on display anymore.
Bristol zoo, like many others, are going down the route of conservation and education at the same time providing an entertaining environment.
Long may it continue.
