Tuesday saw us visiting York. Good start, free parking and free bus into city. Railway museum free. Jorvik centre, had to pay. One out of four, not bad. The Jorvik centre has changed, we did not think it was as good.

Railway museum, something for all ages, including recycled teenagers. You do not have to be a railway geek to enjoy it. There are often temporary exhibits from various parts of the world that reflect other cultures. The warehouse, an area where articles are stored which are not exhibits in the purest sense is an Aladdins cave and very cleverly set out.

You can view the workshops and they have a real time signal display that duplicates the York signal box.

Keith has refrained from going into anorak mode.
